2017 - Judges

Our distinguished panel of judges for the 2017 contest hails from all corners of the leather world, with a special focus on our growing Person of Leather title family.

Head Judge: Levi "Otter" - Mr. Leather Colorado 2011
Levi "Otter" hails from Denver where he proudly represents his state as Mr Leather Colorado 2011. His adventure into the leather and kink community started as a young boy when he was given his first pair of boots and taught how to care for leather gear. That experience taught him not only invaluable skills as a bootblack but also the importance of education passed down to the next generation. While teaching at events he is regularly accompanied by his two pups Sprocket and Tai. Their poly family affectionately named Otter Nonsense has made it a mission of theirs to be a loud voice for diversity, supporting our various communities, and the safety that comes from not just education but the celebration of all people and critters as equals in beauty and voice.

Autumn Orange - SE Person of Leather 2015
Pantheon nominee in 2016 for SE region, co-hosted demos and play parties for two years, LGBTQIA+ advocate from age 15, taught in multiple states, philanthropy across the board (pets, LGBTQIA+ homeless youth, battered women's shelter, Ronald McDonald House), first person to hold the title of SEPoL, associate member of Columbia Leather Order.

Doug Kuhn - American Leatherman 2016
Doug Kuhn, American Leatherman 2016, is originally from Grosse Pointe, MI. He received his B.A. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. After college he packed up his car, stuck a pin in the map and headed west to Phoenix, AZ where he has lived for the past 30 years. Professionally he has worked in many fields and is currently Sr. Database Developer for a company that develops software for blood banks.
Doug has been active in the Phoenix community as a member of Bears of the West, Arizona Men of Leather, and Arizona Leather Bears and Cubs. He even played rugby for a year with Phoenix Storm RFC. When Arizona passed prop 107, Arizona’s marriage amendment, he got involved in grass roots political activism and helped start Human and Equal Rights Organizers (HERO). While predominantly focused on LGBT rights, HERO worked with other groups when their rights were being infringed upon believing that until everyone has equal rights no one does. Doug remains a strong ally and advocate for everyone.
As a Daddy, Doug is extremely protective of everyone in his family and wants everyone to remember that being Safe and Sane/Risk Aware includes having a way out of a situation if things get bad and having a good personal support system in place.
Doug has been with his partner Lee Walters for 13 years. In 2015 he met their first boy who finally allowed him to embrace his inner Daddy. This led to him to compete for and win the title of Southwest Leather Daddy Bear 2015 which then led to ABW and the 2016 American Leatherman title. This past year pup Tusk (Mr. Phoenix Leather 2015) kept following them home so they decided to keep him.

Papa Bear - International Person of Leather 2015
At the age of 16, Papa Bear began his journey researching his hidden passions via books and other literature (the only legal recourse when one discovers such proclivities at such a tender age); at age 18, a wonderful Miss took him under her wing. Under her tutelage, he learned step-by-step how to use the tools he fetishized, and he hasn’t looked back since. An active member of the Las Vegas community for some time now, Papa Bear was the 2015 President for LUC of LV, a member of the Las Vegas Leadership Council, a member of Vegas Valley TNG, is a core staff member of Sin in the City, and served as the Associate Director for the last Las Vegas Mentors Program.   Ms. Mina Hart
Miss Mina Hart began her public life in the Denver BDSM community in June of 2006. Her first dungeon experience was on her birthday and on the cracking end of a singletail. She hasn't looked back since.

Mina began her experiences as an insatiable bottom. As a lifelong masochist, she explored every type of play the scene had to offer with a smile and a hunger for more. She learned many of her bondage skills from Master Robert of Denver Bound and is truly grateful for his instruction. She quickly found that her true loves were rope, hypnosis, needles, and whips and set out with the purpose of learning as much as she could about each of them.

In 2010, Mina became a professional switch for Pavlovia. After having completed a one year apprenticeship under Ms Saskia, she accepted a permanent position as a staff member of PavloviaDenver.com where she worked for three years before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah. Her skill set has grown exponentially during her experience and she continues to strive to add new skills to her portfolio. Miss Mina’s areas of expertise include bondage, singletail, medical play, forced fem, humiliation and hypnosis. She is now the President of the Salt Lake City girls of Leather and has a passion for growing and supporting the women's community in all of their endeavors. She holds several positions in her own community and often volunteers wherever she finds a need.

Mina is a graduate of Leather Quest. She is a trained hypnotist, a previous mentor in the Colorado Submissive Mentor's Program, was junior Headmaster for Journey Salt Lake City, and has taught at SKALES, The Crypt, COLLAR, Sin In The City in Las Vegas, Leather Fiesta in New Mexico, Behind Closed Doors in Tucson, Path in Salt Lake City, Leather Quest in Salt Lake City, USPE in Salt Lake City, Shamrocks and Shenanigans in New Mexico, The Hive in Boise, Beyond Leather in Ft. Lauderdale, and many more. She has performed rope demos at The Sex and So Much More Show, Tracks, Exile, and The Ascension Ball. Most recently, Mina had the privilege to run for International Ms Leather, an experience which enriched her life and bonded her with an amazing group of individuals.  Mina often volunteers for events as well, the most recent being Sin in the City in Las Vegas. She is often a very willing top or bottom for various types of demos, travels to many events across the US.
